8:00am
As we awoke from our slumber in the Maldron in Roxboro to the smell of bonfire from the previous nights activities, Peter our trusty mechanic went out to warm up Minxy and make sure she was in good order for the day ahead. The drivers door was wide open and there was defo a visitor in the night- However I think the fact that we hadn't locked the door and there was no real challenge in starting her was actually her saving grace- Had there been an alarm and immobiliser fitted to Minxy, I reckon we were in trouble!!
9:00am
Mary Immaculate, Limerick
This place resembled a ghost town with all our future teachers still on Christmas holidays- well for them eh... We dropped in a few samples to the staff on site and made sure they had some chocolate niceness to go with their morning brew. It turned out that a couple of the other Arramark sites in Limerick were also still closed so in the words if the virgin Mary, Brodericks..... Come again!
10am
Gleesons Spar, Henry St
Met Micheal Gleeson here as well as a journalist and photographer from the Limerick Leader and gave away hundreds more mini bites of Brodericks to the folk of Luimneach. Stopped in for a few minutes into the home of Munster Rugby:
Billy hangs his head in shame!
11:30am
Gleesons Spar, Catherine St
Paid a trip to another of the Spar shops run by the Gleeson family- Boy do these guys know how to run a good operation- these shops along with their Castletroy unit are examples of how to run a good shop ad deli- Great hot food and plenty of activity- fairplay lads- extra Brodericks bars for you lot!
1pm
Limerick Institute of Technology
Met Karen from Campbell Catering in LIT- at last we found some students that weren't still on holidays... We're still waiting for all you lot in LIT to post those pics on facebook....... free chocolate............ hmmmmmm.....
2pm
Lulu's cafe, Catherine St
We stopped into Lulus cafe, which is next door to Gleesons Spar. We met into Ger, the owner and had great craic with him- he was inspirational- Opened up this coffee shop over 18 months ago with only the money for a few bits of timber and paint- Got a load of friends and family to get the place in shape for free and he has this place rocking- its easily the friendliest cafe/deli I've ever been in- we also have a pic of Ger and a few of his regulars from the Limerick Leader tucking into a Chilly Brr Brr! All the best Ger
4pm
Glenstal Abbey
Check out the video footage and pictures that we have of this place! Incredible- Billy met Fr Fintan in town and he asked us to pop out- Billy and the Brodericks Bros know Fintan through his own chocolate company- Glenstal Abbey Truffles- and they taste amazing- he showed us around the abbey and brought us in for tea and homemade bikkies- it was a great experience....
7pm
Time to head to Cork........ as well as organising the upcoming VINYL
RIP; It was also a very sad moment as we said goodbye to our Assistant Director, Michelle - Au revoir!
